A little bit about the laying hen operation…

The majority of our eggs are supplied by our sister Chyanne's flock of chickens raised right here on the same farm as our pasture raised beef! Her flock has a stock trailer they call home with a fancy little door that automatically goes up and down letting them out in the morning and keeping them in at night, safe from predators. During the day, the chicken will be outdoors roaming through fresh green grass, enjoying insects, a dust bath here and there and the sunshine in the summer months. During the winter when its too cold for their water to stay thawed and after the grass dies off, the chickens will be moved into a warm barn with space to move freely. No cages ever!!

The eggs are gathered daily so that when you buy eggs from us you are always getting fresher eggs then if you had purchased them in the store! You will notice a richer gold color then regular store bought eggs, this comes from the fresh green grass in summer and the alfalfa pellets and hay in their feed in winter, additionally bringing out a great flavor!
