Collection: Sea Salt & Flour - Freshly Milled Wheat Flour from locally grown & ground wheat

Route 304 is excited to have partnered with another neighbor, Weeping Birch Mill, to bring fresh ground flour to our meet up spots in Airdrie & Calgary every other week!

Weeping Birch Mill, has been growing & grinding their own wheat for several years now. The wheat is grown & ground right at Linden, Alberta just a few miles from our farm! 
We have been using this fresh flour ourselves throughout the past few years and we know you will love it as much as we do!


Freshly ground flour is chock full of nutrients, enzymes, and fiber. Fiber provides structure and texture. The bran and germ add flavor and even a bit of sweet taste.

The bran is high in fiber, has a good amount of proteins, and enzymes that help with digestion.

The germ is the smallest part of the kernel, but it contains the highest density of nutrients—mostly fatty acids and a lot of vitamin E.

Fresh ground flour retains more of its nutrients than store-bought flour. This is because commercial flour is often stripped of the outer bran and germ layers, which contain important vitamins and minerals. Freshly ground flour includes those layers, providing more nutritional value. Additionally, freshly ground flour has a higher moisture content than store-bought flour, which can make baked goods more tender and flavorful.
