Thick cut cured pork bacon. Vacuum sealed in 1 pound packages, & sold frozen. Dry rubbed, (no water added) and allowed to cure for seven days prior to smoking and then sliced in ¼ inch thick slices. You need to try it to believe the difference!
Our thick cut bacon is so delicious and popular that when we stopped raising our own pigs we just could not bear the thought of not being able to offer bacon to our customers. We had to start buying our bacon from the store and it was ok, but it just didn't replace the thick cut stuff!
Our butchery is doing an amazing job of not only processing our beef but also raising a lot of their own animals and one of them is pork. We felt that their pork operation aligned with our standards- no added growth hormones and no unneeded antibiotics. The bacon we offer is not pasture raised, but rather grain fed, since raising pigs outdoors is a big challenge for us Albertans. Although it can be done, (we tried it) we just couldn't make it work well in our operation.
